While running a pastured livestock and poultry business in California, I decided to start writing a blog dedicated to everything meaty. My goal was to stimulate some thought and dialogue around animal agriculture issues, provide ideas to other would-be livestock producers, and expose some of the misinformation and straight-up lies that abound in the marketing of animal products. As a former vegetarian (12 yrs.) turned meat producer, I thought my perspective *might* be interesting to others. After 4 years of writing this blog and 100,000s of readers, I still really enjoy the discussion. However, I am shifting gears a little as I work on releasing my book, study other models of food production, and scale our livestock production down to a more household and community level.
